London Man and Van Removals – Terms & Conditions

1. Definitions

  • “We”, “Us”, “Our” refer to London Man and Van Removals
  • “You”, “Your” refer to the customer

By booking our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.


2. Pricing & Charges

  • Quotes do not include extra costs such as tolls, congestion charges, parking fees, ferry costs, or taxes unless stated.
  • Prices may change if details provided during booking are incorrect.

Additional charges may apply for:

  • Incorrect floor level or no lift access
  • Underestimated volume of goods
  • Extra helpers required
  • Additional hours needed
  • Longer distance than quoted
  • Difficult access (stairs, narrow roads, no parking, etc.)
  • Parking fines, permits, or restrictions
  • Delays outside our control (traffic, weather, etc.)

3. Services Not Included

Unless agreed in writing, we do NOT:

  • Dismantle or reassemble big of furniture, e.g., wardrobes, pianos, or any big, complex piece of furniture. 
  • Disconnect or reconnect appliances
  • Remove fitted flooring or carpets
  • Move items from unsafe or poorly accessible lofts
  • Transport prohibited items (see Section 6)

4. Our Responsibility

  • We aim to deliver your goods safely from collection to delivery.
  • Goods are insured up to £10,000 (see insurance terms below).
  • We are not liable for the first £250 of any claim.
  • We are only fully responsible if:
    • We packed the goods, and
    • Damage is caused by our negligence

5. Your Responsibilities

You must:

  • Provide accurate details about your move
  • Be present (or have a representative) at collection and delivery
  • Declare the value of your goods
  • Arrange parking permits if required
  • Ensure access for our vehicle (height/width restrictions)
  • Pack and secure fragile or electronic items properly
  • Empty and defrost fridges/freezers
  • Keep valuables (cash, jewelry, and documents) with you

Failure to meet these responsibilities may result in extra charges or no liability from us.


6. Prohibited Items

We do NOT transport:

  • Hazardous materials (gas, fuel, explosives, chemicals)
  • Illegal or stolen goods
  • Cash, jewellery, valuables
  • Perishable goods
  • Plants or pest-attracting items
  • Animals or pets
  • Firearms or weapons

If such items are included without notice, we accept no liability.


7. Payment Terms

  • We do not require a deposit to confirm your booking.
  • In most cases, payment is made after the job is completed, once all goods have been delivered.
  • However, we reserve the right to request full payment before unloading the goods, depending on the circumstances of the job.

Non-Payment

  • If payment is not made as agreed:
    • We may refuse to unload the goods until payment is received
    • We may place the goods into secure storage at your cost for up to 28 days
    • Any storage, transport, and handling costs will be added to your final bill
  • If payment is still not received after 28 days:
    • We reserve the right to dispose of or sell the goods to recover the debt
    • The outstanding balance may be passed to a debt recovery agency

8. Damage to Property

  • We only cover damage caused by our negligence
  • Compensation is limited to repair of the affected area only
  • Maximum liability: £250 per property
  • We may refuse to move items if there is a risk of damage

9. Insurance

  • Goods are insured up to £10,000 only if:
    • You provide a full inventory list with values
    • We handle packing (where applicable)
  • The first £250 of any claim is not covered
  • Additional insurance is your responsibility if needed

10. Claims & Damages

  • Any damage must be reported immediately before our team leaves
  • No claims are accepted after the job is completed and staff have left

11. Delays

  • We are not responsible for delays caused by:
    • Traffic
    • Weather
    • Accidents
    • Other events beyond our control

Arrival times are estimates only.


12. Cancellations

  • Free cancellation up to 48 hours before booking
  • Within 48 hours: 30% cancellation fee applies.

13. Parking

  • You must arrange legal parking for our vehicle
  • Any parking fines will be your responsibility
  • If no parking is available, the job may be delayed or cancelled
  • A £80 deposit may be required for potential fines

14. Congestion Charges

  • £18 for Congestion Charge Zone
  • Other tolls or charges may apply

15. Subcontracting

We may use subcontractors, but these Terms & Conditions will still apply.


16. Staff Conduct

  • Abuse or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated
  • If our staff leave due to abuse, full payment is still required

17. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.
